Service Learning Project
We are making special "thoughtful treasures" for the children that are living at the Children's Inn at the NIH. The children live at the Inn with their families while they receive treatment for their illness. Our students learned about why the children live there and what it means to them to provide them with special gifts.
Our first project was to make Halloween bookmarks for them. Each first grader felt very proud about making and giving a special bookmark to a child at the Inn. Our first graders read to perform a task in order to complete this project.
